Sliders made other Sci-Fi series look weak until the last two Seasons

In the 1990s, there was a series called Sliders. This sci-fi was different from the others in that it was about the same place in different dimensions or universes sort of. In this sci-fi series, which was launched on 22nd of March 1995 in USA, we see many types of earths. One is more interesting than the other and the action, drama and humour makes this serial to something really special in my heart. None of the Norwegian tv channels did air the show, but RTL7 in Poland did show it. Read on…

Sliders Season 3 Intro

Traveling among parallel Worlds
Quinn Mallory (played by Jerry O’Connell), while working on an anti-gravity machine, accidentally creates a portal to a parallel universe. Eventually, his friends Rembrandt Brown (a disco band musician) (played by Cleavant Derricks), Wade Welles (played by Sabrina Loyd) and Prof. Maxmilian Arturo which was played by John Rhys-Davoes got stuck in travelling between different parallel earths.

All of these, were travelling unwilling and even accidentally got stuck traveling among parallel worlds, trying to survive, and learning that sliding can eventualy lead to fatal results. Meanwhile, among many changes in their group, they try to rescue the multiverse from the Kromagg Dynasty which was added to the series in Season 3.

Destroyed by the Creators
When Slider’s debuted in 1995, almost everyone which could see the Sci-fi series, was in heaven. The FX were pretty great and they improved the series from season to season until Season 3. The series might not have Hollywood standard effects, but they were pretty close to it and once the story went you didnt think of that at all.  The producers of Sliders, did what they could with what they had, but in Season 4 and especially season 5 the story began to destroy the show itself and there was no real ending of the series neither!

Story was one of the best Sci-fi series until the end of Season 3

The cast in the series, was also great and the story was engaging until the last two season. Season 1 was great, season 2 was even better and then season 3 sort of halted the series... The creators decided that the show was too cerebral and they got rid of creator, the good writers and the finest actors on the show. Actors were replaced after season 3. When season 4 started it was only Quinn Mallory left and in season 5 everyone was replaced except for Cleavant Derricks which played Rembrandt Brown. He played in 87 episodes in the period 1995 to 2000. And thus a great show died, only to have it's corpse hung on strings and forced to dance for Peckinpah as he moved it to the Sci-Fi channel where he had even more control and less creativity. Alas poor Sliders! Its a show still missed!
