Norwegian TV4 “Test Broadcast” in 1990

Test Broadcast of Norwegian TV4 channel in 1990

In the 1990s, there was a Scandinavian TV4. However, they decided to split it up into a Swedish and a Norwegian part. From 1991 to 1993, the Norwegian TV4 was broadcasting in Norway only. First they removed the Swedish children programs, then the News and in the end all of the great Swedish programs. TV4 Norway tried to establish itself as a great channel, but in 1992 TV2 Norway got launched and so in September 1993 the last TV4 Norway broadcast was held. Only 2 weeks before the closure, TV4 Norway actually changed their logo totally. So, the closure was a bit surprise. But then again, the channel was stripped down to a channel with just movies and a few series. The channel wouldn’t survive.
